Mouth/ lip contour extraction and tracking

• Different techniques applied, depending on the type of features used:

  • lip contour features: apply energy minimization strategies, for: deformable templates; “snakes”; B-spline contour representation based on spline dynamics model
  • statistical model-based features: apply model-based search techniques and optimization strategies, e.g. Downhill Simplex algorithm.
